The evolution from Windows Vista to Windows 7 will enable users of thenext iteration of the Windows client to take advantage of features andcapabilities unavailable to its precursors. The Windows 7 NavigationApplications, currently tailored for the Beta Build 7000 of the client,is an illustrative example in this context. The application, offered asa free download, is built on top of the Sensor and Location Platform inWindows 7. The Navigation Application is an essentially location-awareWindows Presentation Foundation code, developed as an integration ofVirtual Earth into Windows 7, all packed into a Ribbon/Fluent graphicaluser interface.
